Defending democracy by connecting campaigns and voters
Our founding members are a team of volunteers who were trained to implement the Harris/Walz campaign's virtual outreach events for the 2024 campaign. Post-election, we grew into a family that supported each other, sharing anxieties for ourselves and our country’s future.
Together, we redirected our energy into a positive force, reorganizing as Every Vote Matters (EVM), an independent volunteer team working to support a slate of Democratic candidates and other champions of democracy.
EVM brings the commitment and skills—either working directly with campaigns or in cooperation with other grassroots organizations—to defend and lift democracy by maximizing voter political engagement.
Today, EVM members put those skills to use by running phonebanks and messaging training events with real day-to-day impact on people’s lives—and by building the foundation of resistance and momentum critical to winning the fights ahead.
As behind-the-scenes volunteers, we maximize the effectiveness of voter activation efforts.
Defending democracy against the rise of fascism in the United States demands a multi-front response. Yes, we must protest. Yes, we must inundate Congress with calls, letters and visits. But we can do more. We must also fight for every last vote in state and local elections happening RIGHT NOW.
Are you comfortable speaking to groups? Learn to lead successful, virtual voter outreach phonebanks and other volunteer trainings and events.
Do you have tech expertise? Provide the solutions and tech support that keep callers on the phone when they run into hiccups.
Are you fast on the keyboard and a great cheerleader? Bring effective and motivational chat support for the folks connecting with voters.
Your skills are valuable. As a member of EVM, you will have the support you need to make a real impact. It’s all virtual, so wherever you are, you can help defend our democracy!
